RULES
1- There will be a daily briefing to determinate the axis line and flying direction
2- Any pilot landed more than 10km from this axis, will be moved to it's projection.
3- The official retrieve will only be maid over the determinated route. The pilot landed out of this route will be retrieved only at the end of the retrieve journey and may pay the tax written at the item EXTRAS.
4- Considering the dificulty of XC retrieves, pilots or equipament can arrive late for the next day's task, that's why the event has a large discard rate. It won't be accepted any protest over this kind of delay.
5- Any pilot can take off as many time as they want to, but only one flight a day can be valid.
6- At least 20% of the pilots need to take off to make the task valid in each class (HG, PG Open and PG Serial)
7- In case of protest, it’s exclusively the responsibility of the pilot to prove his flight.
8- Protests must be maid at least 24 hours after the provisional results, excepting for the last day, when this will be 3 hs.
9- Pilot must report the location of the landing place to the HQ or to the radio bases as soon as possible, so the organization will consider him already retrieved.
10- The minimum distance will be of 20kmsfor both HG and PG. Any pilot landed less than that, will score the minimum distance.
11- Each kilometer will score as one point.
12- For safety reasons, it will be scored, the farest distance shown in the pilot’s GPS track log, not the landing place.
13- The XC competition starts on Monday, November 23rd and finishes on Friday November 27th. On Saturday 28th, there will be an independent Goal task, so the organization can call up the results in time to make the prize giving at 10:00pm.
14- There will be another extra goal task on the official practice day Sunday 22nd. The goal will be at Quixeramobim, where there will be served a lunch to pilots to celebrate the event's oppening.
DISCARDS 5 Tasks -> 2 Discards 4 Flights -> 2 Discards 3 Flights -> 1 Discard 2 or 1 Flight -> No Discard
EXTRAS: The following items, are not included in the program and will be considered as extras: · Retrieve of pilots landed out of the determinated route . In this case there will be a tax of R$ 20,00 for each 10 km (car ride). If there are more than one pilot landed in the same place, they can share this tax. The pilot landed outside the route will be retrieved at the end of the retrive journey. Remember: our aim is to fly over the route, to be OK for flying in the following days.
· The food (dinner and lunch) during the trip is not included. It is included: breakfast, fresh fruits and mineral water in the take off and retrieve cars.
XC TIPS 1- NEVER take off without drinkable water. It is very difficult to find good water in some landing areas. 2- Keep the habbit of drinking water even without being thursty.
3- Always bring an extra battery with you.
4- Don’t forget to fly with your ID tag. There you’ll find all the telephones and frequencies you need to contact the retrieve and the organization.
5- We will have one frequency for flying and another for retrieve. After landed, switch your frequency for the retrieve frequency and try to contact the radio bases or the retrieve cars. You can also ask for a pilot (in the air frequency) to make the link for you.
6- During the flights, speak only the necessary. Try to give objective informations telling only your altitude and the distance for the next waypoint on the route.
7- Remember that we are about 60 pilots flying in the same frequency and using the same frequency for retrieve.
8- The Caatinga, is a very aggressive vegetation. We recommend pilots to fly with long trousers.
9- We will be flying in a place with very few people. Always bring the natural food given in your kit (cashews nuts, dry bananas, and etc…)
IMPORTANT You're part of a restrict group that has accepted the challenge of flying in one of the best and strongest places in the world. As all good flying sites, the Brazilian "Sertão" has important characteristics that must be respected. So alway remember:
Brake your limits with a safe conscience. Respect the nature power and have a nice flight.
